Waking up in Oskar Schlemmer’s house in the bauhaus foundation and looking outside the studio’s big windows to find a group of tourists looking towards me is not an unfamiliar experience to me.

Two years ago I slept in Haus Schminke, a house built by Hans Scharoun in Lobau, Germany. It is now a museum, but it used be my grandmother’s house. I never had much connection with because my maternal grandparents, who grew up in Nazi Germany, they disapproved my mother converted and married an Israeli Jew.

My family history and my experiences led me to participate in the Bauhaus foundation residency and produce a body of work that can be seen at the Gropius Haus Gallery, Bauhaus foundation, Dessau, Germany.

The works consist of a video and a plantation of a Eucalyptus tree , inspired by my experience as a foreigner in a country that is part of my identity, approaching subjects such as nomadism, migration and memory.
